Charles Weed, born 1970 in Champlin, Minnesota, studied in the U.S. with George Herman and Peter Bougie as well as in Florence, Italy where he later taught. He began teaching with the Florence Academy of Art Studio in Boston, subsequently moving to Italy to resume teaching for the academy there. Weed has lived and worked in Amsterdam, Holland and Lucca, Italy, and today continues to paint, draw and etch portraits (see Figurative), still lifes and landscapes from his home in Svendborg, Denmark.
