Deborah Bell creates her art in a sprawling studio next to an ancient ship canal in Seattle, Washington. Trained at the city’s prestigious Cornish Institute, Bell says she ‘studies the luminous energy for everything it reveals: color and emotions, transience and energy. . Even on rainy days, there’s a yellow slicker, the scarlet glow of neon in Pike Place Market and the bright blue body of a cargo ship in Puget Sound.’
