Mary Garrish – With a former career as an ENT surgeon, Ms. Garrish became an artist later in life than some. The discipline of her medical days, however, paved the way for Mary to develop and evolve into the artist she is today.  Working with mentors Albert Handell, Kenn Backhaus, Matt Smith, Doug Dawson and Scott Christensen, she found her own distinctive style and the greatest satisfaction in 'celebrating life', painting Plein Air. Working in oil and pastels, her work ‘captures a scene as it exists if only for a brief moment, a reminder of the impermanence of life.’
